There is nothing quite like the anticipation of a Christmas Parade. The air is crisp, the music is loud, and the kids have this sparkle in their eye that’s hard to find anywhere else. It’s almost as if they know something magical and rare is about to happen. They have a way of making an enjoyable outing on it’s own, even more exciting and fun to watch just because of their giddiness.
Last night’s Christmas parade was no exception. Unfortunately the Husband was unable to come with us because of work, but we DID have family to keep us entertained and in good company.
The parade was set to start at 6:00 p – in that spirit I made an effort to get out of work early so that we could find a good spot at around 5:15/5:30 or so. My mom called me at 4:30 and told me she had to go park her car out in front of her office (on the main street) so that she could reserve our spot!! People were gettin’ serious about their parade-watching!
So seeing as how we got there SUPER early, we had quite a bit of time to kill. The key was keeping two families worth of kids, entertained for about an hour, while their little bodies could barely contain the excitement!
They did extremely good, all things considered. I am just grateful to Kate and Blake for helping keep me sane. Check out the full parade video below!
